Does the rule y=4*4^x represent a linear or an exponential function? Explain.

OpenStudy (turingtest):

is the variable in the exponent?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

exponent

OpenStudy (callisto):

I think it's an exponential function. Since 4^x is an exponential function with x being the power. y=4* 4^x is like 'enlarging' the exponential function y=4^x along y-axis by 4. So, I think it's an exponential function. :|
