HELP ME PLEASE ಥ_ಥ The ratio of the areas of two similar polygons is 16:25. If the perimeter of the first polygon is 20 cm, what is the perimeter of the second polygon?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

If the ratio of the two areas is 16:25, then the ratio of the sides is 4:5 (you take the square root of each component)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

It turns out that the perimeters form the same ratio as the sides since the perimeter is simply the sum of all the sides

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

we know that the ratio of the perimeters is 4:5, so 4/5 = 20/x Solve this for x to find the perimeter of the second polygon

OpenStudy (kymber):

Okay thaanks :p
