A polynomial is an expression of the form\[P(x)=y=\sum_{k=0}^{n} a_kx^k=a_nx^n+a_{n-1}x^{n-1}+...+a_1x+a_0\]Note that the coefficients are all real numbers, and the exponents are all whole numbers. The leading coefficient a_n is different from zero.
