Laura rents a movie for a flat fee of $2.00 plus an additional $0.50 for each night she keeps the movie. If Laura keeps the movie for 3 nights, how much will she pay when she returns it?

The total cost = the flat fee plus 0.50 times the number of nights. Can you write the equation for this?
x=2.00+0.50(3) something like that?
Correct. The more general form of the equation would be\[x=2.00+0.5n\] where n=number of nights the movie was kept.
So i plug 3 in for n then solve for x?
