well using the special right triangles the 45 45 90 degrees one |dw:1337725843714:dw| so since one of the x's is equal to 7; looking at the picture you can tell that y would also equal 7, so x would equal 7 *sqrt 2; using a calculator it would round up as 9.9, is you do it to the nearest tenth. so x = 9.9, and y = 7
