Can anyone help me with these 4 polynomial questions doing to tic tac toe ; 5x^2 +38x +70 12x^2 +69x +45 4x^2 -5x +7 5x^2 +23x + 24 3x^2 -8x +15
Try to use this power point on the link attached here - http://homelink.cps-k12.org/teachers/massiee/files/E1D3D7B421C549D699298672147901E7.pdf. Its the best.
1 Draw a tic-tac-toe grid with nine spaces. Label the vertical columns from left to right, marking the first column ax^2 the second column c and the third column ax^2 * c. In this case, it would be 12x^2 in first, 45 in second and 540x^2 in third. 2. Draw an extra box on the bottom of the right-hand column. Insert the value bx in that box. In this case 69x 3. Find the factors for the value in the top-right box. (540x^2) Select the two factors that would add together to equal the value in the extra box. In this case 9x and 60x, which equal 69 x when added together. Note this in the right hand columns below 540x^2. 4. Factor the values in the top-left and top-middle boxes. Select one factor from each so that when you multiply the factors that you selected together the product equals the value in the box at the end of the row. For example, 12x^2 can be factored into 12x and 1 and 45 can be factored into 5 and 9x. 12x * 5 equals 60x and 1x * 9 equals 9x. 5. Take the middle-left box and the bottom-middle box together as the first factor of the polynomial. Write down the middle box and the bottom-left box as the second factor. For example, the factors of the above polynomial are (12x+9)) and (x+5).
@pam142 Solve the remaining. Can you check the first equation. It might be different.
I'm doing Quadratic equations but your answer confuses me because my teacher told us to do do it like this: |dw:1337918162876:dw|
