The figure below shows a circular prop with two triangles labeled ABC and AOC made on it. The center of the prop is labeled O. What is the area of the cloth required to make the circular prop? 12.24 ft2 15.19 ft2 25.13 ft2 50.29 ft2

AOC is an isosceles right triangle. Hypotenuse = 4ft. Find the length of each leg (radius of circle). Then use that to find area of circle.

OpenStudy (happykiddo):

oh i see what you mean :D thanks

OpenStudy (happykiddo):

but how do you know angle AOC is a right triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because ABC = 45 degrees and AOC = 2 times ABC = 90 degrees. It is one of those "circle" theorems.

OpenStudy (happykiddo):

gotcha thanks

is the answer 25.13??
