mathslover (mathslover):

In series connection and in parallel connection , i want to know net power formula . please explain also . I studies the formula : in series 1/ p = 1/p1 +1/p2 , while in parallel : p = p1 + p2 I can not understand the reason behind this.

mathslover (mathslover):

can any1 help me here ?

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

I'm not sure, but if I had to take a guess, it would be because the formula for power is \[P={V^2\over R}\]where the same relation for power is true for voltage, and the opposite is true for resistance. If you were to go through the details more carefully, this would probably get you where you need to be.
