When you first look at the problem, it is easiest to tell that the numbers are both divisable by 2. 24 divided by 2 is 12. 54 divided by 2 is 27. The fraction is now 12/27. Both of these numbers are divisable by 3. 12 divided by 3=4. 27 divided by 3=9 The fraction is now 4/9. 4/9 is 24/54 in the lowest terms possible
