Not correct. The numerator of a rational expression shows how many. The denominator shows what kind of part you are adding or subtracting. When you added, you changed the kind of fraction you have (the denominator). What you needed to do is\[\frac{3}{2a}+\frac{5}{2a}=\frac{8}{2a}\]
