Using your own words, describe how you would write the equation of a line given a point on the line and a parallel line?

OpenStudy (amorfide):

you are given a parallel line this means both lines have the same gradient the equation for a line is y=mx+c so m is the gradient m is the same for both lines you are given coordinates now to work out the equation of the line you do |dw:1337796015071:dw| where y1 is the y coordinate and x1 is the x coordinate m is the gradient sub in simplify you are done :D
