i am pretty sure people only use it  about 5x in our life!!!!lol

There are plenty of jobs where you will never use algebra.  "Would you like fries with that?"

Depends on what career you take up.  But knowing how to interpret a graph is very useful... it is a type of thinking that helps you understand how to manage your money, for example.   And if you watch the news, notice how often things are presented as graphs.   It is always good to be able to understand what they are saying, don't you think?

all of these algebra exercises are practice problems that make you think logically.  isn't that what everyone strives for?  if you don't think logically, well... would you like fries with that...
