What are the solutions of the system? y=x^2+4x-5 y=2x-2 A. (–3, –8) and (1, 0) B. (–3, –8) and (–1, –4) C. (–3, 0) and (1, –8) D. no solution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do you want to solve this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

put y=2x-2 in first eq

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just substitute your x and y value into the equation. if the value on left hand side is not same as the right hand side, then you can 'eliminate' the (x,y)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Or you could plug 1 in for \(x\) and see if you get 0 for \(y\). If so then \((1,0)\) is a solution.
