Analyze an everyday movement in terms of the body systems and functions involved. Assignment Instructions For this assignment, you will analyze an everyday movement in terms of the body systems and functions involved. You may choose the scenario from the list below, or you may think of a different scenario that involves multiple body systems. Sample Scenarios: Ballet dancing Running a race Eating your dinner Driving a car Playing soccer Walking the dog Figure skating Playing basketball Riding a bike Putting away the groceries Your assignment should include: A written narrative that describes, in detail, the scenario you have chosen. This description should include the senses and movements involved to complete the activity. A discussion of how each of the body’s systems is involved in the actions described. The systems that are required in your analysis include: The skeletal system The muscular system The integumentary system You are encouraged to discuss other system involvement, such as the circulatory, nervous, and digestive systems. Other systems may also be discussed, but are not required. This discussion should be detailed, describing how specific organs interact in order to complete the actions described in the narrative.
No one is going to do the assignment for you but we're happy to walk you through it. No pun intended. For a start, do any of the sample scenarios catch your interest as something you would like to write about?
playing soccer
I just dont know any thing about the systems because i havent studied them.
OK, so when you are playing soccer, let's say that you are a keeper. Someone for the other team has taken a shot. Now you want to tell whether the shot is on target, so what must you do to the ball?
pick it up and hold it out infront of you to line up where you want to punt it back
So when you go to pick it up, you have to look at the ball and sense it. Nerve cells in your eyes carry that info to your brain and it figures out that it is looking at the ball. Then the nerve cells in your brain send out info to your muscles, telling them to pick down and pick up the ball. So right away, you have used your nervous system and your muscular system. Can you think of any other systems you are using? For example, how you might be using your skeletal system or your circulatory system too?
Ok so then after that my skeletal system i should use when i fall?
I think you use your skeletal system when you pick up the ball. If muscles didn't have bones to tug on and act like levers, they would not be able to move you anywhere. And those muscles you use to pick up the ball need oxygen and energy to work, right? So it gets the oxygen from the lungs, the oxygen is delivered from the lungs to the muscles through the blood, and the energy comes from food absorbed through the digestive system...
ok thank you
Not a prob.
