As part of constructing a right triangle, Andrew drew a line segment and plotted one vertex of the triangle on the line segment. He then constructed a line perpendicular line segment that passes through the plotted vertex. With the vertex as the center, he drew a large arc to create a 180 degree angle. How can Andrew ensure that the other two points he plots will represent the remaining two vertices of a right triangle?

Plot both points on the arc. Plot both points on the perpendicular line. Plot one point to the left of the perpendicular line and the other to the right. Plot one point on the perpendicular line and the other away from the perpendicular line.
