The automatic appointment of group mods was taken away. And I don't think you actually have moderator powers. That said, there may still be a line of code that says "change the username of the person who created the group to purple, regardless of their moderator status"

haha @karatechopper and @farmdawgnation we can kick people and delete posts and comments in our respective groups, and that's about it, besides we get to be totally purple ;D
