An aircraft carrier left the Azores and traveled toward Tahiti. A container ship left two hours later traveling at 15 mph in an effort to catch up to the aircraft carrier. After traveling for eight hours the container ship finally caught up. Find the aircraft carrier's average speed.

Lets consider the container ship since we are given information this air craft. But lets not forget that it has taken off 2 hours later. Now, we were told that the container ship is traveling at 15 mph, and that it took it 8 hours to catch up to the aircraft carrier. so at 8 hours of the container ship traveling at 15 mph it finally caught up to the container ship. so lets set up an equation for the container ship f=15t; where t is time in hours so after 8 hours f=120 Now we know that the other air craft took 2 hours before so it actually took 10 hours to reach the same distance. and to find velocity or speed, it is distance/time in this case, distance=120 miles and time= 10 hours so to find the average speed 120/10 which is?
