okay here is my problem in a certain state, fishing licenses are in the form of LLL NN, where L stands for a letter of the alphabet and N stands for a one -digit number from 0 to 9. How many possible fishing license outcomes are there if all are allowed?

OpenStudy (ash2326):

@Astemmene How many letters are there? and How many numbers we have?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

9 numbers and 1 letter?

OpenStudy (ash2326):

Letters in english alphabets?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ash2326 ohhh, well there's 26

OpenStudy (ash2326):

so we have LLLNN now L can be either of A-Z and N can be from 0-9 so one example of license \[AAA00\] another \[BBB33\] do u understand this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea...

OpenStudy (ash2326):

ok, we see that there can be 26 different licenses for each no. like \[AAA00, BBB00, ......ZZZ00\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mhmm

OpenStudy (ash2326):

so tell me how many total licenses are possible?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would that be 26x9?

OpenStudy (ash2326):

how many are 0----9?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9.... i no but is the only way to solve this goin to be to put together all the possible answers?such as ur examples?

OpenStudy (ash2326):

You forgot 0? so it's 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahhh.... i see lol

OpenStudy (ash2326):

so how many licenses?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

260?

OpenStudy (ash2326):
