Find the coordinates of the other endpoint when you are given the midpoint and one of the endpoints. Answer in terms of a decimal rounded to the nearest tenth or an improper fraction in simplest form. P1 M P2 (3, 5) (-2, 0) ( , ) helpppp

OpenStudy (anonymous):

assume it to be (x,y) nd solve for mid point

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do i do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3+x,5+y = -4,0....solve this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-4 = 2*(-2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait what.......?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(-7,-5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you do this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

assume the second point to be (x,y)...and u have two point u can fine the mid point...u got the formula...substitute it...u get those eqns nd solve

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:/can you explain his to me step by step on how you did this.. i cant get it either way

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(x,y),(3,5)...to calculate the mid of these two use (x+3/2,y+5/2) nd we know the midpoint...so we equate it....try it....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1.5? and 2.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no sry....u got to divide x+2 with 2 not just 3 ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you get?
