How do you draw 1-chloro, 2, 3-diiodopentane?

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

tip1. Start with pentane: how many carbon atoms?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know how to draw pentane. I don't know who to draw 1-chloro or what the 2 means.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-pentane Draw pentane, carbon and hydrogen atoms, only. 1-chloro There is a chlorine atom bonded to the first carbon. Swap out a hydrogen atom so you can do this. 2,3-diiodo- There will be two iodine atoms, located separately on carbon atoms 2 & 3.

That makes so much sense. Thank you so much!
