Sheila observes the Bermuda Triangle on two maps of different sizes. The triangles are similar and have dimensions, in centimeters, as shown in the figure below. What is the value, in centimeters, of x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Mertsj You did awesome at my last question. Can you help on this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nvm the answer is 1. But i have another question for you.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

I didn't get 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What did you get? and here is my other question The length of one side of a square can be determined by square rooting the area. Suppose the area of a square picture frame is represented by 2475v^15. Determine the exact length of one side of the picture frame.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

\[\frac{6}{5}=\frac{3x}{x+3}\]

OpenStudy (mertsj):

\[15x=6x+18\]

OpenStudy (mertsj):

\[9x=18\] x=2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh yea i definetly messed up on that part....Woops.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you for the correction.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

\[\sqrt{2475v ^{15}}=\sqrt{9(25)(11)v ^{14}v}=3(5)v^7\sqrt{11v}=15v^7\sqrt{11v}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alrighty thanks.
