What is the 10th term of the geometric sequence –1, 3, –9, …?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

looks like you're mulitplying by -3 every time. so a = -1 (first term) and r= -3 . The 10th term is the first term multiplyed by r 9 times. so 10th term = a * r^9.

In other words\[-1 * (-3)^{9}\]
