evaluate 22/-x-11 for x=-11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is the equation you're going for this? \[22\div-x-11\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. Well, it would come out to be 22/11-11 or 22/0...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But division by zero is impossible...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does x = -11? Or just 11?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well... (-x) with (-11) substituted in would come out to positive 11 and 11-11=0... 22/0 is impossible.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok this must be why the question said evaluate and if possible simplify. so since its not possible what should i write for my answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would assume so.
