State whether the triangles are similar. If so, write a similarity statement and the postulate or theorem you used. https://www.connexus.com/content/media/459431-3292011-20058-PM-200370649/res00000/ppg/examview/S_GEOMB_07_02_semester_exam/mc005-1.jpg

Please help.

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

Triangles OKJ and ONM are similar

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

this is because corresponding sides are in same ratio: OJ:OM = OK:ON i e 24:32 = 18:24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would the postulate be sss?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

i'm not sure - i haven't come across that convention - i'm from uk. but doesn't sss mean 3 equal sides - that is congruent triangles. similar triangles are not congruent - they have the same shape but different size.

there you go check this out: http://www.regentsprep.org/regents/math/geometry/GPB/theorems.htm

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

looks like its SAS

thank you!
