What is the axis of symmetry of the parabola given by the equation x = 3(y + 9)2 – 12?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are u sure it is a parabola ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes i'm..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cause i think usully equation of parabola are of second degree!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's what the question asked me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i think at first you have to bring that equation into general form of quadratic equation then you find the vertex of parabola which will clearly give you it's symmetry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm doing a test that's my last problem. Can you please just give me the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is this equation is something like x=3(y+9)square-12?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or x=3(y+9)multiply by 2 -12?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think it's symmetry about x-axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you r always welcome
