Look at the figure shown below. A student made the table shown below to prove that XY is equal to YZ. Statements Justifications NY = MY Given m∡MYX = m∡NYZ Given m∡XNY = m∡ZMY Given m∡MYZ = m∡MYX + m∡XYZ Angle Addition Postulate m∡MYZ = m∡NYZ + m∡XYZ Substitution m∡NYX = m∡MYZ Transitive Property triangleXYN ≅ triangleZYM ASA postulate XY = ZY CPCTC

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A. Provide the missing statement and justification in the proof.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Where is the figure?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OOPS

OpenStudy (anonymous):

After the transitive property, there is another statement which is NY=YM. then only we can conclude ASA postulate.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the missing statement is NY=YM? and the reason would be ASA postulate?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

missing statement NY=YM, reason: given.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

isnt that the same as the first one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oops my mistake. shall try again.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha its ok i think my question is a lil confusing looking cuz im trying to find the statement and reason that comes after the first three givens in that big blank spot that should have a number 4 by it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm i got it. i think it should be angle NYX = angle NYZ + angle ZYX, reason: angle addition postulate.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mmks thank-you could you explain why you think that like why that statement and why that reason?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what's mmks? haha XD. we need to have both statements: MYZ =MYX + XYZ and NYX=NYZ + XYZ. Later we perform substitution NYX=NYZ and we got MYZ=NYZ + XYZ. then we can prove that MYZ=NYX

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol idk its just what i say sometimes in place of ok i geuss haha and ok thanks =)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm sorry. it should be perform substitution MYX=NYZ. typo

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its ok =)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I guess I should have presented in a better way. anyway if you don't understand feel free to ask me. got to go rite now too tired. XD mmks.lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think i got it =) haha and mmks thanks for helping!!
