OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you are spinning in an office chair with your legs extended straight out and you suddenly pull your legs in towards your body, what is the effect on your angular momentum?

OpenStudy (savvy):

it remains conseved since no external force acted and so as a result our angular velocity would increase.....

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

Angular momentum is conserved, and angular speed increases. Kinetic energy increases.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since the angular momentum remains constant, if you decrease the radius of your mass distribution, the speed,v, will increase. \[L=r \times mv\]
