Multiplying and Dividing Rational Expressions Question: http://i50.tinypic.com/24pjw51.png Possible answers -------------- (x-5)(x+4 --------- 2 (x+5)(x+4) --------- 2 (x+5)(x-4) --------- 2 (x-5)(x-4) --------- 2

OpenStudy (pfenn1):

\[\frac{x^2+8x+15}{x-4} \times \frac{x^2-16}{2x+6}\]First thing we want to do is factor the expressions if we can. Like take the 2 out of the denominator of the 2nd term.\[2x+6=2(x+3)\]Can you factor x^2 - 16? Hint: x^2 - a^2 = (x - a) (x + a)
