The volume of a hexagonal prism is 12square root 3 in3. What is the height of the prism if the base area is 3square root 3 in3? Answer 36square root 3 in 4square root 3 in 4 in 36 in

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Volume of any prism = (Area of the base) x (height) so you can solve for height after you plug in the values that are given to you: 12sqrt(3) = (3sqrt3) x h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you do it from here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thank-you =)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yw... what's your answer (just verifying) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont think i did this right ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what did u get? the answer is one of those choices....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you might be putting it in your calculator incorrectly or do you just want to work this by hand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do i type into my calculator cuz i think i mite have put it in wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(12xsqrt(3)) / (3xsqrt(3)) that's with parenthesis. if your calculator does not have parenthesis, you might have to do this the "many steps" way... :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it does i dont have a square root button though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

by hand would've been much faster... :) |dw:1337984311608:dw|
