I need to create an easy-to-use formula to calculate a number equal to an overall exertion rate for an exercise session on a treadmill. There are 4 input numbers: Minutes exercised. Miles ran. Calories burned. Level of intensity. If: Minutes = 50 Miles = 4 Calories =400 Level = 10 Then, what is the overall exertion rate based on the 4 input numbers?

OpenStudy (precal):

doesn't that type of formula already exist?

I've searched for the answer but haven't found it--anywhere. Can you answer the question?

OpenStudy (precal):

no, not unless I know what type of function it is? Linear, quadratic, etc

As a nonmath person, I have no clue what type of function is involved, and that's why I'm asking for help from the experts on this site.
