Prions are a.viral particles b.prokaryotic cells c.protists d.made of protein e.all of the above

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Prions are neither eukaryotic nor prokaryotic. They are very similar to viruses-Nonliving. Prions do not have DNA nor RNA, unlike bacteria, viruses, viroids etc., but they do have "proteins". They cause many diseases such as (Mad Cow Disease). Prions are proteins, that are located in the nervous system, that can misfold and can cause other prions to misfold. These proteins have a unique ability, to reproduce and become infectious. (A prion can be a infectious protein, that is misfolded.) Hope that helps! n_n
