does anyone here who is learning japanese know the best way to memorize kanji? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't usually memorize kanji alone that aren't words themselves. I first learn the word, reading, and definition first; what usually happens is that I learn a word and read it often in hiragana and look up the kanji. By reading it often, I learn it. There are also flashcard sites or you could make your own, but I feel that reading real texts in Japanese (stories, articles, journals, children's books) help me memorize kanji a lot better.

If you are in Japan, just read the food packages.. that might help :P

It helped me.

And @Tiffy, yes the hiragana is very important. There is a catchy jingle on YouTube, and some people memorize hiragana using license plates.
