Start with the lectures and when you have questions, ask here :)

watch the lectures, read the readings, do the problems, read xtra stuff online - http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/electrical-engineering-and-computer-science/6-00-introduction-to-computer-science-and-programming-fall-2008/index.htm

There is also the book: http://www.greenteapress.com/thinkpython/thinkCSpy/thinkCSpy.pdf. I found that if you are a beginner beginner reading a few chapters before you do the letter will go a long way to helping you understand and answer the assignments. As I had commented elsewhere sometimes the assignments cover language concepts not yet covered in the video lectures. Hope this helps.
