The three sides of an equilateral triangle measure x + 12, 2x - 5 and 3x - 22 inches. The sides of the triangle measure 17 inches 29 inches 32.5 inches 44.5 inches

6 years agoEquilateral triangle means that all sides are equal. We can do the same thing in this. Just put up an equation.

6 years agoTake any two sides and then equate them

6 years ago@LovelyMegan did you understand Parth's explanation?

6 years agoExplain more plz

6 years agois it the same formula?

6 years agox + 12 = 2x - 5 Solve this

6 years agoAlternatively, you can do this too, since they're all equal. 2x - 5 = 3x - 22

6 years agoOr even this. 3x - 22 = x + 12

6 years ago@LovelyMegan have you tried any of these formulas yet?

6 years agojust about to i had to take a quick break

6 years agowell please let me know if/where you get stuck in solving this problem :)

6 years agowhich formula am i use n ?

6 years agoeither?

6 years agoany one of the three Parth gave you; they all give the same answer. Why? Because the triangle is \(equilateral\) which means all sides have the same length, so we can set any two equal to solve for x

6 years agook

6 years agoso im solve n for x?

6 years agoyep

6 years agothen you need to plug that value of x into any one of the expressions for the length of the side to get the actual answer

6 years agowait but what is x

6 years agothat's your job: to find x with any of the three formulas parth gave you

6 years agox is just a variable. When you find x, then plug it in.

6 years agoMake sure that when you plug-in, you get all of them the same.

6 years agoUhhh im not getting any of these answer

6 years agook, which equation did you use?

6 years ago3x-22=x+12

6 years agocan you show me how you worked it? what you got for x ?

6 years ago|dw:1338047178136:dw| see /7 now im suck
