Let f(x) = 3x+1 and g(x) = x^2 Part 1 Find f(g(x)) Part 2 Find g(f(x)) Part 3 Use complete sentences to explain any difference in part 1 and part 2.

Parth (parthkohli):

Think of x^2 as a number and you're multiplying that by 3 and adding 1.

Parth (parthkohli):

\(\Large \color{MidnightBlue}{\Rightarrow 3(x^2) + 1 }\) \(\Large \color{MidnightBlue}{\Rightarrow 3x^2 + 1 }\) Can you do the others with the same concept?

Parth (parthkohli):

In the second one you're just squaring a number so just square 3x + 1

OpenStudy (grant330sims):

so 9x^2+6x+1?

Parth (parthkohli):

Yes exactly

OpenStudy (grant330sims):

Sweet! thanx!

Parth (parthkohli):
