Find the probability for the experiment of drawing two marbles (without replacement) from a bag containing three green, four yellow, and five red marbles such that the marbles are different colors.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

with or without the replacement

OpenStudy (anonymous):

without replacement

oh its easy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but the marbles that you choose need to be different colors, so the choices are 47/132, 47/30, 47/66, 1/6, and 2/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u have to solve it this way: if green and yellow marbles are drawn, then it can be done in 3*4 ways=12 ways similarly: yellow, red---------20 green, red---------15 total 12+20+15 ways=47 ways u have to select 2 marbles from 12, so it can be done in 12C2=66 ways.. so, probability: 47/66
