Help 23 Which substance would not be used for preparing a pure sample of crystalline magnesium sulfate by reaction with dilute sulfuric acid? A magnesium carbonate B magnesium hydroxide C magnesium nitrate D magnesium oxide
i need the reasons @Kryten @Vincent-Lyon.Fr
ok so answer would be C Mg(NO3)2 cause it is a salt from strong base and strong acid so reaction with strong acid wouldnt yeild much towards creating of MgSO4 cause sulfuric acid is also strong acid so it cant push out strong conjugated base NO3- where CO3 2- is a weak acid and strong acid namely H2SO4 can push it out
H2SO4 + Mg(NO3)2--->MgSO4+HNO3--->so like will it affect the pH?
that wouldnt happen that is my point cause both are strong acids and they wouldnt interchange each other, at least not in any meaningful amount
oh okay can u explain this A hydride is a compound containing only two elements, one of which is hydrogen. Which element forms the most hydrides? A carbon B chlorine C nitrogen D oxygen
sorry but could you close this one and open new question.... rules
