Why are stereotypes sometimes used in the media? a- They provide a quick identity that is easily recognized by the audience. b- All people are biased and believe them. c- They are true about the people being described.

I would go with answer 'a'. The media has too much too lose by using admittedly biased commits. A number of rival media conglomerates would immediately expose their indecency. That being so, they only use stereotypes which are not yet considered biased to communicate more effectively to their audience.
