Downy mildews and water molds are similar to fungi in that they both _____. resemble fungi decompose organic materials absorb nutrients all of these
b) because they feed on decaying organic materials.
Hi @studynot.. Downy Mildew is actually caused by a fungus of the family oomycetes and water molds were once thought to be caused by fungi but they are no longer considered to be fungi just microorganisms which resemble fungi.. The similarity between the two is that they are both obligate parasites. This means that they require living host tissue to survive. They are not saprophytes @lanre... They do not feed on decaying organic materials. So, to answer to your question @studynot, I'd say that they absorb nutrients (from the living host tissue) to ensure their survival.
