Given two terms in an arithmetic sequence find the explicit formula. a(sub18) = -3382 a(sub32) = -6182 I'm really confused on this. Can someone please explain this to me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[a_{18}=-3382\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[a_{32}=-6182\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we want find difference between each sequence

OpenStudy (anonymous):

from 18 to 32 , it goes -3382 to -6182 \[\frac{-6182- -3382}{32-18}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Explicit form \[a_n=a_1+ d(n-1)\] evaluating above will find you d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to find a_1 \[a_1=a_{18}-d(17)\]

thank you so much imran!
