5x^3+2X^2-7 name this expression by its degree and number of terms

OpenStudy (anonymous):

some kind of trinomial

OpenStudy (anonymous):

didn't I tell you how to do this? ._.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't think so? It has to be named ex: quadratic trinomial. However I am not sure what to name it with the ^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, it's a 3rd degree trinomial. Not exactly sure what the quadratic before the trinomial is fore, though.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I understand the trinomial part because of the three terms. It would be quadratic if it were ^2 but since it is ^3 what would it be called?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or is it a fifth degree?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it'd be a 3rd degree.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so then what would that third degree be called ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe a cubic trinomial ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it might be cubic.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, it's cubic. xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok thanks thats what I was thinking also
