Simplify the following expression: (x - 8y) - (2x - 4y). If the final answer is written in the form Ax + By, what is the value of B? I got the answer -x - 12y.. so.. B would equal -12. Right? xD

-x -4y is what i get

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

(x - 8y) - (2x - 4y) x - 8y - 2x + 4y <--- This is where you made the mistake

Parth (parthkohli):

\(\Large \color{Black}{\Rightarrow x - 8y - 2x + 4y }\) \(\Large \color{Black}{\Rightarrow -x - 4y }\)

Parth (parthkohli):

Hmm I agree jim.
