Use formulas to find the lateral area and surface area of the given prism. Round your answer to the nearest whole number. https://www.connexus.com/content/media/464825-522011-125952-PM-1872756551.png Not drawn to scale 472 m2; 486 m2 443 m2; 486 m2 472 m2; 479 m2 443 m2; 500 m2
the lateral surface area is the surface area made up of those 3 rectangles: 29x7, 29x2, and 29x(hypotenuse of that base triangle)
total surface area is what you just calculated plus the area of the two triangular bases.
So, I would add 29x7 and 29x2 to get 464? How do I find the hypotenuse?
the hypotenuse is sqrt(7^2+2^2) = sqrt(53)
so 29xsqrt53=211.123
notice the area of the triangular bases... you have two of them making one 2x7 rectangle. the sum of the areas of those two triangles is therefore 14. just add 14 to your previous total to get the other answer.... :)
which of those is your correct choice? it is listed...
Would it be C?
no
A
I see how you go that. Thank you so much. I understand this now.
