"Computer skills" is broad. What exactly are you wanting to do? Break into IT? Work in an office? What is your current job, and what would you define as a "better job"? Answer these, and I can help. :)

I have pretty much computer skills already through self-teaching. I am in video-editing-photography at the moment. I hear that people with broad computer technology skills and programming skills are looked for in jobs today.  "Better Job" is probably not the best term.  I guess I am just looking to diversify my skills more in order to move into another direction. My present job has me on the computer alot, so I thought deeper tech trainng of computer would be nice. Thank you for responding it. Most times no one ever does.

What courses are you already taking through MIT's Open Course Ware? I'd recommend some programming courses, if you are looking to get into a market with more opportunities. If you have some skills and are in the US, getting your CompTIA A+ (and other) certs would enable you to get more IT-industry jobs (help desk/pc tech, for example). I'm not sure if that answers your question or not, so if not please clarify further and I will help if I can. Professor Masser ( http://www.professormesser.com/) is free if you are looking to take some certifications to get a better job in the IT field. The CompTIA certs are basic and broad (i.e., not OS/hardware specific). Here's the CompTIA link. This might be the easiest way to go to break into better IT positions without spending years at school learning to program: http://www.comptia.org/home.aspx. Also, techexams.net is a great place to ask questions.

Hey, I recommend you check out: https://www.coursera.org/category/cs this website offers online courses, and it might help you decide which field you would like to progress with in the industry. Anyways, it can help you get started and gain more knowledge; so check it out ;)
