The noodles comapny location in parker colorado sells its pad thai for $4.25 for small and $5.25 for a regular with addition $2.00 for protein for either size. If noodles and company is making a 300% markup based on the cost on their food what is the cost for a small size pad thai with protein? round to the nearest cent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

small size pad thai original price before markup = $4.25 small size pad thai price after markup = $17 small size pad thai + protein = $17 + $2 = $19 Do you have the answers for this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am thinking my mark up might be wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I do not have the answer for this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep, it would be $4.25 x 3.0 = $12.75 $12.75 + $2.00 = $14.75

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but u forgot to plus the original price as well.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So i'm not supposed to add the $2.00 before calculating the markup

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yeah sorry then yeah, it's $19

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep, u should add the $2 after the markup

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How did you get 19.00?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

still equals $19 though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

read my steps above ^^^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and tell me what you don't understand.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay I got that..why would you add 4.25 again?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because that is the original price and we are applying 300% mark up on top of that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

$4.25 x 3.0 = $12.75 $12.75 + $4.25 = $17.00 $17.00 + $2.00 = $19.00
