Please help, and please tell me how to do it, not just give me the answer
Np. Whr is the question, i will try my best.
Firstly, you must understand what is a tree diagram. The tree diagrams lists out the various possibilities or choices that will happen. So in the tree diagram you see in the first branch P1 and another P1 with a dash on top. (since i cant put a dash on top, i will call it P1x). Given that P1 is the probability that jenny will get her job, form there we know that P1x is the opposite, meaning it is the probability that she will not get her job. Thus in the first branch, P1 will be 0.6 (you did correct) and for P1x is 1-0.6 = 0.4 ( you did wrong). This also applies to P2 and P2x. So for the rest of the tree diagram you will have no problem filling in the probabilities. For part (b), to calculate the probability that neither jenny nor michelle get their jobs, you use the tree diagram and follow the branch which result in the both jenny and michelle not getting the jobs. Try to do it yourself. If you cant get the answer ( which is 0.28), just go ahead and ask and i will answer.
thank you very much @tiaph. you explained it in a way that I understood!
