The cost of peaches varies directly with the number of pounds bought. If 3 pounds of peaches cost $4.50, find the cost of 5.5 pounds. PLEASE show your direct variation :)

there is got to be some kind of connection between the price and the weight for example P=W+1.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

simply use unitary method 3 pound of peaches cost $4.50 then 1 p.o.p cost 4.50/3 and cost of 5.5 pound will be (4.50/3)*5.5 = $ 8.25
