SOLUTE POTENTIAL DECREASES WID INCREASE IN SOLUTE CONCENTRATION .......... Y??????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

solute potential is same as the osmotic potential. Solute potential is affected by solute concentration. solute potential is always negative and the maximum value is 0, that is when the water is 100% pure and free of solute. I believe distilled pure water has water potential of 0. So, when there is solute present in the solvent, the solute potential becomes less than zero. The higher the solute concentration, the more solute present, the more negative the solute potential. I hope this help. Correct me if i'm wrong.
