Solve this then explain which method you used. 7x -3y=20 5x+3y=16

razor99 (razor99):

simulatneous equation lol

Parth (parthkohli):

You can use elimination in this case. Add both equations. \(\Large \color{Black}{\Rightarrow 12x = 36 }\) \(\Large \color{Black}{\Rightarrow x = 3 }\) Now let's find y. \(\Large \color{Black}{\Rightarrow 5(3) + 3y = 16 }\) \(\Large \color{Black}{\Rightarrow 15 + 3y = 16 }\) \(\Large \color{Black}{\Rightarrow 3y = 1 }\) \(\Large \color{Black}{\Rightarrow y = {1 \over 3} }\) So the correct solution set is (3,1/3)
