Please help! Vilas is building a square pyramid for graduation. A. The pyramid will be made of chicken wire. How many sq. ft. of chicken wire will be needed? B. It will cost $1.50 per square foot to cover it with carnations. How much will it cost to cover the pyramid. (The base of the pyramid will not be covered with the carnations.)
Assuming he is not building the base... for A. find the Lateral Surface Area of the pyramid
S = L + B S = πrl + πr2 S = π(6)(6) + π(8) Like that? for A?
that formula is for cone
S= L+B...if he is building the base if he isn't then just find L (L) Lateral area = the sum of areas of all the triangle faces here all the triangle faces are congruent... so calculate the area of one and multiply by 4
\[\Large L=\left( \frac12\cdot b \cdot l \right)\times 4\]
oh kk so it would be like L= (1/2*6*8)*4= right ???
then L=(1/2*48) * 4 L= 96
right?
yes L = 96 sq. ft. if he is building the base too ... you will do S=L+B B is the area of the square base =6*6
for B. just do $1.50*L =1.50*96
then it would be $144.00?
yes
AWWWW okay thank u!!
